Upgrading Bay Path University’s Student Commons cafe was a substantial and comprehensive renovation involving various trades. The existing cafe had become out-dated and had functional deficits requiring a significant revamping of layouts of service areas and kitchen locations. The plumbing, electrical system, lighting, and finishes on the walls, ceiling, and marble flooring all required renovation. A new roll-up security gate was installed along with all new casework for food service areas, coffee station, and checkout, manufactured and installed by TSA’s millwork division. In addition, solid surface dining counters inside an existing stand-alone dining enclosure were fabricated and installed by TSA craftsmen. Close coordination between architect, TSA, and onsite crews and subcontractors resulted in a bright, comfortable, visually appealing and well-functioning addition to the Student Commons.
